Tech and Copyrights

 

    Fair use is the ability to use some copyrighted materials as long as it is little enough that it is considered common knowledge.  Copyrighted material is information that is protected by the author so that others can't use this information without citing the creator.  When developing material it's important to use outside sources to develop better course material and plans.  However for the students and teacher this information must be properly cited.  The best way to make sure students avoid this is by proper education on citing copyrighted material.  

    Cyberbullying and Student privacy are much bigger issue than they have ever been in academics.  To stop cyberbullying in the classroom and school I think discipline is the best answer.  Disciplining students that cyberbully others with detentions and suspensions is an effective way to deter students from continuing this behavior.  Student privacy is a difficult issue for teachers to tackle.  Ensuring students and parents that the students information will be kept confidential and discarded of responsibly after they leave is important in building trust.                               

    I learned a lot from the Newsletter Design assignment as it pertains to putting together information and presenting it to the class.  I think I could work on the neatness and visual attractiveness of the next Newsletter.  A lot of the programs like canva and word art are newer to me but as I use them more I think my designs will become much cleaner.  The skills I learned from the Newsletter assignment are hugely important in becoming a better professional and being able to create written products.  Attached below is my Newsletter.
